Nahla Nawar Raya is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the State University of New York at Binghamton, with an expected graduation date of May 2025. She holds a cumulative GPA of 3.67 and has been awarded the Dhillon Family Graduate Scholarship for her academic excellence and leadership qualities. Previously, she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Studies from the Bangladesh University of Professionals in May 2022, achieving a GPA of 3.89 and receiving the Academic Merit Scholarship during multiple semesters.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Nahla’s professional experience includes her current role as an Events Assistant at the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) in Binghamton, NY, where she facilitates events for international students to promote inclusivity and engagement. She has also worked as a Content Developer and Creative Writer for the Acid Survivors Foundation in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where she created fundraising content, produced story videos, and coordinated newsletters. Additionally, during her tenure as a Marketing Intern at Nestlé Bangladesh Limited, she contributed to brand management for Nestlé NAN and led a successful e-commerce project, earning a Certificate of Appreciation. Furthermore, Nahla participated in a project with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), focusing on evaluating the working conditions of staff supporting refugees in Bangladesh.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

In her leadership roles, Nahla serves as the Assistant to the President of the Graduate Student Organization at Binghamton University, where she plans events and manages social media engagement. As the Vice President of Communications for the Graduate Management Association, she enhances communication among the association, the School of Management, and graduate students while overseeing branding initiatives. Previously, as the President of the BUP Human Resource and Leadership Club in Bangladesh, she launched the House of Ventures, a startup accelerator program, and organized the nation’s first HR-based case competition. She also held the position of Senior Vice President at the BUP Global Affairs Council, directing an international model UN conference and managing the publication “The Politicus.”

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Nahla possesses a robust skill set that includes proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, video editing, R programming, Python, and Tableau. She has received accolades such as being named a Fellow of the Aspire Leaders Program in 2023 and being nominated for the “Leaders of Tomorrow” category at the Inspiring Women Awards 2022. Her volunteer work includes participation in Binghamton University’s Family Weekend and Homecoming events. Additionally, Nahla has engaged in various case competitions and is fluent in both English and Bangla/Bengali. Her interests encompass reading, crafting DIY projects, cooking, and music.
